"This is our favorite! We keep coming back for great margaritas and the best queso around! There’s a big menu with lots of options, including vegetarian options, and the soups and carnitas are phenomenal. We’re here almost every week!"

"I don't know what's going on but there's just too many flies. It's not good. The food was ok but expensive now even more. What's worse is that the prices when up which we understand but they don't serve enough so price up less food. They should really take care of the flies. Health department should really pay them a visit."

"Good food & value, but - Some things to note that need some .. attention. There is a table placard listing all kinds of drinks with a happy hour banner, but when we asked about it, none of those are happy hour. Apparently according to our server, the only happy hour offering is a large draft beer? We ordered enchiladas and they only came with rice. Asked about the beans and was told it doesn’t come with beans also there are daily specials on Facebook only - but not on the menu, or an insert, or mentioned by a server, or even a sign at the entrance all bizarre!"

"I saw a random Facebook video or TikTok or something, I don't remember. I was just doomscrolling. Anyway, saw someone eating here taking about the margaritas and birria tacos and decided to drive down and give it a shot. Really great food and the prices were about as good as you can hope for in 2026. The salsa is really spicy, and that's exactly what my heart wants in a place like this. Also tried the queso and some enchiladas with rice. Everything was fantastic. I'll definitely be back."

"I dined there last night. If I could, I'd spoil myself again tonight, in the caring service of LA Carreta. The portions were perfect! The price was perfect, matching the portion size. The staff was perfect: attentive, friendly, made me smile and feel at home, from the moment I walked in to the moment I waddled out. The food was prepared and cooked right there in their kitchen. You don't *eat* there, you *dine* there. But that's not the kicker! Id love to tell you about "the kicker," but I'd be giving away a secret. Let me just say that they *listen. The kitchen is *not* a machine, *not* an extension of "the factory.* It's where they make their food, where they make friends - like me."

"Now listen here, if you’re lookin’ for real-deal, no-joke, grandma-approved Mexican food, La Carrenta is where it’s at. Soon as we walked in, I knew we were in for somethin’ special. There was Mexican on the walls, Mexican on the ceilings, Mexicans everywhere—I looked over at my two brothers and said, “Boys… this is gonna be a good one.” We rolled in on a Tuesday—Taco Tuesday to be exact—and let me tell you, the air smelled like cumin, glory, and a little bit of lime. We ordered the chicken flautas and the beef flautas, and them chips and salsa? Good night. I don’t know what they put in that salsa, but it was scrumptious. Like, “put it in a bottle and sell it at Buc-ee’s” scrumptious. Super fire. Absolutely goated. Then came dessert. Now I don’t normally get excited about dessert unless it’s deep fried or homemade by someone named Nana. But buddy, the fried apple pie here? Possibly the best Mexican dessert I’ve ever laid tastebuds on. I almost shed a tear. The fried cheesecake was good too, don’t get me wrong, but when my brother took a bite of that apple pie, he looked up at the ceiling and said, “I love it.” Like it had just proposed to him. Now, was it a little expensive? Yeah. I think we spent about 60 bucks for the three of us, and the portions weren’t huge, but everything we ate tasted like it had been blessed by a tortilla angel. And y’all—I ain’t no salad guy. I don’t trust leafy things. But their salad with the fried rice? Lawd have mercy. That rice was so good it made Jalapeño Tree's rice taste like it came from the microwave section at Dollar General. Sweet tea? Pretty stinkin’ good. Service? They were polite, fast, and didn’t judge us when we ordered seconds on the fried pie. Place was quiet too—even on Taco Tuesday. Which is perfect for guys like us who like to hear ourselves argue about flautas. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. 10/10. Five sombreros. This place is the real enchilada."
